STORYLINE
Twenty years after an accident during a small town high school play results in death, students at the school resurrect the failed stage production in a misguided attempt to honor th
e anniversary of the tragedy - but ultimately find out that some things are better left alone.
MY REVIEW:
Yes, it's a found-footage style horror flick. Yes, it's not exactly a big budget ($100K plus a little bit extra for production.) It was a good "scare" with tons of jumpy moments.
So the basics, this high school in Nebraska has a prop-malfunction that kills the lead in the high school play, Charlie. Twenty years go by and they are gonna do it again. That alone should be enough to be interesting.
Here's when it gets crazy, four students (One asshole bully, one blond cheerleader, one jock turned actor, and the theater princess) get "accidentally locked" in the school theater in the middle of the night and that's when the havoc ensues.
Yes, there are some plot inconsistencies, and the shaky-cam style makes my brain hurt, I do think that the purpose for this movie was served. It did scare the crap out of my a few times.
