About the blog:

Well, hello!
Thanks for stopping by to read my opinions about movies that I see. Some are older and most are new. Some I go to see in the theaters (both live performances and movies) and some I watch from the comfort of my own couch and even more, I will watch from the amazing Netflix app.
Of course, these will be my personal thoughts about the targeted item, however, it will give you an idea of whether it's a colossal waste of time or worth a shot!

STORYLINE
Having through monogamy was not in the cards, a commitment-phobic career woman may have to face her fears when she meets a good guy.

MY REVIEW:
To put it short and sweet. I thought Trainwreck was almost a train wreck itself. I am a big Amy Schumer fan and I really wanted to like this movie. It came out of the gate strong with Collin Quinn playing the lecherous Dad of Amy {Amy Schumer} and Kim {Brie Larsen}. So, we skip to the future where Kim has taken the normal path of adulthood.. married to Tom {Mike Birbiglia} with a stepson and a baby on the way. Amy has taken the path of her father, who is now stricken with Alzheimer's and in a retirement home. Amy is seen with a string of one-night-stands and all-night binge parties.

This was not the movie that the trailers said it would be at all.

The jokes were overdone and for anyone who's familiar with Amy Schemers work will be all too familiar with these jokes that are ever present in the movie. One after another. I found myself rolling my eyes at the over use.

Amy's long term boyfriend with homosexual tendencies is played by John Cena. Pretty painful as cameos go.

Then we get to meet Bill Hader who plays Dr. Aaron something or-other.

This movie went down-hill on skis pretty fast for me. I think they tried to fit all ALL the EMOTIONS into one 30 minute stretch. It was a love story, comedy, partly porn, and a hundred other things. I just didn't connect at all with anything.  All in all. Just a passable movie.

Here's me GOING to see Trainwreck... At least I looked cute!

Armed with a super-suit that has the astonishing ability to shrink in scale but increase in strength, cat burglar Scott Lang must embrace his inner hero and help his mentor, Dr. Hank Pym, plan off a heist that will save the world.

MY REVIEW:
I had my reservations if Paul Rudd could pull off a lead role like this, but this worked. I've really only seen him play in supporting roles. He pulled it off. I really enjoyed this movie.

Michael Douglas. CGI, Evangeline Lilly. Enough said. If you haven't seen this one, it's a pretty enjoyable ride.

STORYLINE
Twenty years after an accident during a small town high school play results in death, students at the school resurrect the failed stage production in a misguided attempt to honor th
e anniversary of the tragedy - but ultimately find out that some things are better left alone.

Every School Has Its Spirit

MY REVIEW:
Yes, it's a found-footage style horror flick. Yes, it's not exactly a big budget ($100K plus a little bit extra for production.) It was a good "scare" with tons of jumpy moments.

I think my hair was a little big to see this movie.
Ah, whatever!
So the basics, this high school in Nebraska has a prop-malfunction that kills the lead in the high school play, Charlie. Twenty years go by and they are gonna do it again. That alone should be enough to be interesting.

Here's when it gets crazy, four students (One asshole bully, one blond cheerleader, one jock turned actor, and the theater princess) get "accidentally locked" in the school theater in the middle of the night and that's when the havoc ensues.

Yes, there are some plot inconsistencies, and the shaky-cam style makes my brain hurt, I do think that the purpose for this movie was served. It did scare the crap out of my a few times.

STORYLINE:
John Connor sends Kyle Reese back in time to protect Sarah Connor, but when he arrives in 1984, nothing is as he expected it to be.

MY REVIEW:
Admittedly, I want to see this movie because my husband wanted to go. I was not a huge fan of the original movie from 1984, I was in fourth grade and more likely to enjoy Supergirl with Helen Slater! I have seen Terminator {The original as well as all of the sequels} and i get the draw.

That being said, I enjoyed this movie. For a summer release {and we saw it in IMAX 3D} it had enough to keep my attention. Well, that and Jai Courtney is a pleasure to look at and watch!!
Jai Courtney

The idea that this movie proposed is that there are now multiple timelines in which the various terminators have shifted their realities. I actually loved the idea of this alternate future and that there is always a way for you to control your own destiny. It resonated with me.

There was just enough humor and action to make it an all-around pretty fair two hours!
